Color Throwdown Challenge #116

Time for a little festive card-making with this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.  I used the cover of the current Papercrafts magazine for a little inspiration for the circle.  I stamped branches around the outside, and then embroidered little red french knots to simulate berries - I love the look and the texture it adds to the card.  Here is our colour inspiration:
The card is 5 1/2" square:

Patterned Paper is Mistletoe; Cardstock is Cocoa & White Daisy; Inks are Garden Green & Cocoa; Stamp sets are Festive Thoughts and One of a Kind; Holiday Red Organdy ribbon & Red embroidery floss - all CTMH.

A Little Santa Card

I'm working hard to design cards for a craft show at the end of November... so hopefully I'll get many more posted over the next few weeks.  Here is a simple one using my new fave paper (kraft!):
You can't see it too well in the photo, but look closely, and you'll see that he has a little 'blush' on his cheeks.
Kraft paper & ribbon - Michaels; Cardstock is Black, White Daisy; Ink is Black; Stamp sets are Twas the Night Before Christmas, and Card Commentary.

Mojo Monday #162

Everybody and his dog wants their house staged this month!!  Which is why my posts have been fewer and far between... but I had time today to work on Mojo Monday's sketch, and I chose the circle option.  And - it's a paper only card, no stamping!  I can't decide where the bow should go - thoughts, anyone?

Funny how the flash changes the picture completely?  Papers are all Making Memories, Mistletoe collection, Provo Craft corner rounder, Martha Stewart punch.

A Newfoundland card

Good friends of ours moved to Newfoundland this summer, so I wanted to make them a special "Newfie" card... and had this idea floating around in my head.  I'm going to first post a picture of what the houses are like in Saint John's - there are row after row of the most wonderful, brightly coloured houses, built all over the hillside.  We spent hours just hiking around the streets and taking pictures when we were there 4 years ago.  If you can ever make the trip - it's a gorgeous little corner of the country, and the people are the friendliest you'll find anywhere:
So I pulled out our "Around the Block" stamp set, which is all the bits and pieces of a house, and this is what I came up with:
Cardstock is Indian Corn Blue, Holiday Red, Crystal Blue, Sunflower, Topiary, Orange, Desert Sand and White Daisy; Stamp set is Around the Block; Copic markers; Ink is Desert Sand.

I Made the Friday Five!

I got many wonderful comments when I posted this card on last week's Heart2Heart Challenge... which was to use an alphabet stamp, make it for a boy, and use the colour chocolate.  So I was very excited to see that I made it as one of the Friday Five!  Thanks ladies!  Here's a little repost of my card:

Wee Memories Challenge

This is my first time trying the Wee Memories Challenge - who has a bit of a fruit theme happening this week.  I've had this stamp set sitting around for ages, and have never used it, so here was our inspiration, and what I came up with:

Patterned papers are Basic Grey, Sugared; Prima Flowers; Michael's ribbon; Stamp set is Cheers!; Cardstock is Baby Pink & White Daisy; Ink is Cocoa; Autumn Soft Chalks; Barn Red brads - all CTMH.

A Layout for a Change

Even though cards are my "thing"... I'm a big scrapbooker, too - so I thought that it was time to post a layout.  Not the best picture of it, but I quite like the layout itself, and I especially love the Twitterpated papers... so I've decided to share it with you.  (I'm not a big title/journaling person... but I've added a bit more to the layout since I took the pic)  Oh, and I should add that my children are drinking "mocktails" :o)

Patterned Papers and Embellishments are Twitterpated - all CTMH.
