Play Date Cafe Challenge #61

A Belated Merry Christmas to all of you... I haven't been able to post in about a week since I caught a cough/cold/sinus type thing a few days before Christmas, so was glad to be feeling well enough today to find some play time!  The current Play Date Cafe Challenge has an interesting colour combo that I used to make a thank-you card that I need to send.  Here is our inspiration:
Patterned paper is Vineyard Berry Fleur de Lis; Cardstock is Vineyard Berry, Moonstruck & Bamboo; Ink is Vineyard Berry; Stamp set is Gracious Greetings; - all CTMH; Spellbinders dies; Bling - Michaels.

Another quick one...

I'm trying hard to get teacher gifts sent out tomorrow, and hope to put the last few cards in the mail... so I *think* these are my last Christmas cards of the season.  Fairly simple, and similar to a few I've done this year, but I still have a bit of the Mistletoe paper kicking around - so here's what I came up with:
Ribbon, Michael's; Stamp set is Holiday Trinkets; Patterned papers are Mistletoe; Cardstock is Cocoa & Colonial White; Inks are Garden Green, Cocoa & Cranberry - all CTMH

Two Challenges

I'm combining this week's Heart2Heart Challenge (gift items) and the Color Throwdown Challenge.  I made a set of Christmas gift tags that I'm giving as a hostess gift next weekend.  Sometimes I think that tags take longer to make than cards!  But it was fun.  Here is our colour inspiration:
Patterned papers are Mistletoe, & Mistletoe Creative Basics; Cardstock is Cocoa, New England Ivy, Cranberry & Colonial White; Stamp sets are Just for the Holidays, Christmas Melodies & New Fallen Snow; Inks are Cranberry, Cocoa, Desert Sand & New England Ivy - all CTMH; Michael's ribbon, kraft paper; Martha Stewart punch, Stickles.

I'm a Lucky Lady!

A few weeks ago, Vicki Wizniuk had a little give-away on her blog, and guess who won??  Me!  She asked us to tell her what was our favourite project of hers, and I didn't even hesitate, I remembered her Humble Artist's Swap card from August 2009 - and to this day it is one of my fave cards (you can see it here).  So look what I won - a CTMH Triple Play mini book kit, and a handmade card from her.  Talk about getting fun mail :o)  Then last week I won the November challenge at Curves (I lost a combined 6.6 pounds & inches!).  Don't things always happen in 3's?  I may run out and pick up a lotto ticket this evening.  Here are my goodies:

Mojo Monday #168

I've had a request from a friend for a 90th birthday card!  So I took a break from Christmas cards to work on this one... I paired it with this week's Mojo Monday sketch, and one of my new favourite Verve dies:
Patterned paper is Urban Prairie, Basic Grey; Die is Verve; Cardstock is Hollyhock & White Daisy; Stamp sets are Precious Alphabet & Cherish; Inks are Blush, Hollyhock & Garden Green; Pink Carnation organdy ribbon - all CTMH

Two Challenges

I paired up this week's Color Throwdown Challenge with the Card Patterns sketch...  I haven't used these little elves yet this year, and it was great to use a non-traditional colour combo for a change!
And here's my effort:

Stamp set is Merry Pursuits; Cardstock is Chocolate, Spring Iris, Lilac Mist & White Daisy; Inks are Chocolate & Lilac Mist; Spring Iris marker; Lilac Mist organdy ribbon - all CTMH. Copic Markers, Michaels ribbon, Stickles.

Play Date Cafe Challenge #58

This was SOOO much harder than I expected it to be!  Red & White - how hard can that be??  When I dug through my paper stash, and found that most of my holiday stuff was red/white&green... or distressed red & cream... I became quite determined to do a fairly pristine red & white card :o)  So I went with some Jingle patterned papers, taught myself how to make a folded medallion, and pulled out the sewing machine.  Even though I quite like my card, it's not Christmassy enough for me...  I may glitter it up a bit.  Here's our Play Date Cafe inspiration:
Patterned papers are Jingle; Cardstock is White Daisy & Tulip; Stamp sets are Evergreen & Just for the Holidays; - all CTMH.
