Fairy Spinner card

I hope you enjoyed seeing all the fabulous new Spinner sets launched on the Art Impressions blog last Thursday - and the wonderful Design Team creations!  I am sharing a suspended easel card today using the new Fairy Spinner Set (Sku #4546):
Our little fairy is suspended on a piece of thread, which allows her to spin freely in the opening.  And spin, she does!  It was actually pretty funny trying to take these photos, as I had to time it for when she was facing forward!!  I finally developed a method of blowing on her to keep her steady, while trying to keep the camera steady and take the shot - would've made a good video :o)
Here is her rear view.  Make sure to check out the matching dies that are available for all the spinner sets, as they make assembly such a breeze.
Here is what she looks like when the card is flat.  You can see the middle strip of blue which is scored so that the front folds in half.  To see more detailed instructions on how I put her together, check out the post on my blog here!
 Copics used: Skin tones - E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair - W5, W3, W1, W00
Pinks - R89, R85, R83, R81
Oranges - YR18, YR16, YR15
Greens - G46, G43, G41

Launching new Art Impressions Spinners!

I have some very fun new stamps/cards to share with you today... Art Impressions Spinners!

The Design Team is helping to launch 6 new spinning stamp sets - and their matching dies!  The sets include a front and back image, as well as a sentiment.  After colouring and cutting them out, you sandwich a piece of thread or string in between the two images, and suspend it in an opening large enough that will allow your image to spin.  If you spin your image several times, and then put your card into an envelope - when the recipient opens it up, your creation will spin around several times.  *Click here to see a tutorial that I posted on my blog a few weeks ago, and you'll see step by step instructions.  I have four cards to share today (and stay tuned for more to come in the days ahead!).  Here are Scaredy Spinner (Sku #4575):
And Throttle Spinner (Sku #4572): - I made this one a little differently; here is the outside:
And when you open it up, here's our wild scooter lady:
Here's an overhead shot so that you can see how I put her together:
There are two more images in the collection - I'll be posting one on Tuesday, but if you hop on over to the Ai blog, you'll see what the rest of the Design Team has put together.

We are also launching a new challenge today, which is "Cards with Movement" - hope you can join us :o)

Graduation card

I am posting on the Art Impressions blog today!  With my daughter graduating from high school in a few weeks, I am in need of quite a few graduation cards for she & her friends.  I wanted something that was fairly easy to reproduce, but still fun and a little bit sparkly.  Art Impressions has a lovely collection of graduation stamps - and  Reach for the Stars (Sku #4292) fit my needs perfectly:
I coloured the star and heart with Copic markers, and coated them with a little Wink of Stella for some shimmer.  Then I added some irridescent sequins and clear micro beads to make it into a shaker card.  If you look closely, you'll see that I used the small yellow star from the die cut - adding it into the shaker mix as well.
 Copics used were Y19 & YR16
Happy stamping!

Birthday Windows to the World

A few weeks ago, Art Impressions released a whole bunch of brand new Windows to the World stamps (you can see them all here!).  Today I'm sharing two cards made with one of the original Windows stamps Birthday Banner Window (Sku #3198), and using the brand new Window Die (Sku #4619):
If you've seen my cards before, you'll know that "bright" is my middle name... and yes, these two are no exception.  They were fun to colour up & assemble.  I added a few clear gumdrops to one, and a few coloured ones to the other, a bit of twine, and ta-da!  All done.

Here's the inside, showing the birthday cake & banner.  The sentiment written around the square says "On your birthday here's hoping all of your wildest dreams come true!"  I didn't open up the windows, to make it easier for my photos, but you can open up and bend back each of the shutters if you like.
 Copics used: Blues - B05, B02, B01, B00, B000, B0000
Pinks - RV25, RV14, RV13

Greens - YG05, YG03, YG01

New Art Impressions Girlfriends for 2015!

Hello everyone!  The Art Impressions Design Team is launching the brand new 2015 Girlfriends stamp sets today!

There are four new sets available in the Ai store - you can find them all here.  I am sharing Quilt Set (Sku #4544):
I just happen to have a sister-in-law and a stepmom who are both avid quilters, so I was thrilled to see this set!  And of course, I thought this stitchy looking paper worked pretty well with it.  There are two other great sentiments that come with the set: "Quilting Sisters" and my personal favourite "May your bobbin never be empty".

You'll want to head on over to the Ai blog to see the other images, and how the other Designers have used them.  We are also kicking off a brand new challenge today, which is "Lovely Ladies".  With Mother's Day just around the corner, and the Girlfriends sets launching today - it's a perfect challenge.  Happy Stamping!

Art Impressions Loungers

Well, spring is finally taking hold here, north of the border!  Which of course has my mind wandering off to the summer, LOL!  So I've made a very bright, beachy card using the Loungers Set (Sku #4473):
This was such a fun image to colour - deciding just how wild their swimwear would be!  I added a little paper rosette to finish things off:
And here is the fun sentiment that I put on the inside of the card, with a girly sunglasses die:

I hope you're enjoying some gorgeous spring weather wherever you are!  We'll have a brand new challenge on the Ai blog on Thursday, but until then, you still have time to enter our April showers/May flowers challenge.  Happy stamping!
