More Christmas Mice!

I am on a roll using images that I've had coloured up for a few weeks, and getting them made into cards.  I really love this little mouse from Art Impressions that is wearing a onesie - so perfect for paper piecing!  And he is intended to work with the new mini Action Wobbles, so his jingle bell is popped up on one.

Patterned paper is Polar Pals by Doodlebug Designs; Cardstock is Bazzill Basics; Stamp set is Chris-mouse Mini Shaker (Sku #4796) by Art Impressions; Banner & Oval STAX dies; Copic Markers.

One Crazy Stamper Challenge

I am playing along with the November One Crazy Stamper challenge!  They have a wonderful sketch as inspiration, and I had two of these snowmen coloured up ready to go - which just happened to work perfectly with the sketch.  Two more cards for my stash!
Funny, but as I'm writing my post and looking at my card, I realize that I haven't coloured the berries on his hat!!  Off to fix that now...

Stamp is Gimmie A Hug Snowman Q003 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps; Patterned paper is Polar Pals by Doodlebug Designs; Bazzill Textured Cardstock; Xpress It Blending cardstock; Let It Snowflake dies from My Favorite Things; Copic Markers; Stitched Circle STAX die.

Penguin Stackers

I'm working away on my Christmas cards, and had fun colouring up today's image - this is one of the new  Art Impressions 2016 Christmas stamp sets - Penguin Stackers (Sku #4811)  Here is how it looks when the recipient receives it, with the pull tab inserted in the slider:
I like to make my slider cards fairly large, this is 5" x 6 1/2", which gives plenty of room for the Slider Die (Sku #4764), and the pull tab.  After you pull down on the ribbon, here is the cute stacker image revealed underneath:
Have you seen all of the new images that work with the Slider die??  There are two holiday sets - penguins & reindeer, and three Slider sets that use the die horizontally, and reveal a cute sentiment under the tab (see them here!)
Our current challenge is Slide On By - we want to see your projects with a slider element!
Copics used: C5, C3, C1, C00, BG15, BG13, BG11, V06, V05, V04, B24, B23, B21, Y38, Y32, Y26, Y23, R30

Inspired By All The Little Things #33

It's my week as hostess on the Inspired By All The Little Things blog, and I adore bottle brush trees for the holidays, so I couldn't resist choosing them for my inspiration photo this week!
I wanted to do a little watercolouring this week...  I started out by white embossing some tree images that I have, and painted over them, but the effect wasn't what I wanted.  So - I tried again with a snowman image from Art Impressions, sticking with the watercolours, using all the pinks and greens in the photo.  I used some masking fluid to create the falling snow, and used a combo of Distress inks and Tombow markers mixed with water to make my scene.  I still need a fair bit of practice with my paintbrush, but overall I'm fairly happy with how he turned out!
My guest this week is the very talented Myra Webb - head on over to the Inspired By blog to see what she & our fabulous Design Team have come up with.  Hope you'll play along!

Slide On By

Slide On By is the current challenge on the Art Impressions blog, as the design team are all sharing the new Ai Sliders - there are two wonderful Christmas stacker images (penguin & reindeer!), as well as the sliders that are using the Slider Die (Sku #4764) horizontally!  Here's my card using Elephant Slider Set (Sku #4802):
Unlike the Ai Stackers, where the image is hidden under the slider... the cupcake image is adhered on the right side of the slider frame, and the little elephant is adhered to the green tag using pop dots, so he sits up a little.  When you pull the slider tab out to the right, the "you're the sweetest" message is revealed.
The Elephant Slider set includes the elephant and triple cupcake image, along with a small single cupcake and the sentiment.  There are dies for the two large images, as well as two pennants (not shown) and the "yum" wording which I glued on the pull tab.  Check out what the rest of the Design Team has to share today, and you can see all the new Sliders & Stackers that are available in the Ai store.  Happy Stamping!
Copics used: C5, C3, C1, C00, R24, R22, R21, R20, B95, B93, B91, YG03, YG01, YG00, YR12, YR00, Y35, Y13, Y11

Art Impressions Christmas

I have a few Art Impressions cards featuring the newly released Tropical Christmas (Sku #4788), Southwest Christmas (Sku #4787) and one using Merriest Christmas (Sku #4790) to share today.  Now being from Canada (a.k.a. The Great White North...) a Tropical Christmas is a little out of my frame of reference.  But one look at Surfer Santa and that cute little crab, and the ideas started to come together:
Since I knew he needed to be on the sand, I kept the card itself pretty simple, I drew my own beach, and coloured it with Copic markers, then coloured both the crab and the palm tree, and fussy cut them before adding them to my scene.  I opted for just mounting them on a tropical blue cardstock that would act like the sky.
Tropical Santa and the Cacti from the Southwestern Christmas set were simply fun to colour - especially with the bright, acid greens!

And finally, a more classic holiday card using Traditional Christmas... I used a white base, which is something that I don't often do, and paired the red up with navy as the accent colour to frame everything:
I hope you're having as much fun making your Christmas cards this year as I am!  You can find all of these clear acrylic sets in the Ai store, here.  Happy stamping!
